Education
" Develop a passion for learning. If you do, you will never cease to grow."
Anthony J. D'Angelo
Education is the cornerstone of social and economic development. The Hampton Roads Chapter of PAYO is built on Education. The chapter provides a multitude of educational opportunities to meet your learning or professional experience level. It is only through education that we can hope to enhance our professional goals. See how Hampton Roads PAYO can help you further your professional goals through our educational courses.
The Hampton Roads Chapter of PayrollOrg offers a study group for the Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) and the Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) examinations. The courses do qualify students needing to obtain RCH credit hours. The RCH hours will be approved based on each student's actual hours of participation.

Preparing For The 2026 FPC Certification EXAM VIRTUAL Study Group

FPC Overview
The Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC) is open to all those who wish to demonstrate a baseline of payroll competency. The FPC is designed for Entry-level Payroll Professionals but is an intensive Payroll "body of knowledge" course that requires an estimated 6-8 hours per week of study time, plus weekly review sessions.
Recertification is attained either by retaking and passing the exam or by accumulating a minimum number of qualifying RCHs through continuing education. Any CPP/FPC who needs recertification hours can take the class once per tax year covered and receive RCHs.
